Bulk liquids transport
Non-fuel liquids have been part of the Hills fleet since 1985: customised, end-to-end cartage on the eastern and central freight corridors, run from depots in NSW, Queensland and South Australia.
1985
Four decades of non-fuel liquids cartage alongside the fuel work, not a sideline bolted on last year.
Eastern and central freight corridors
Depots at Beresfield NSW (head office), Brisbane, Mackay and Townsville, with a new Adelaide depot.
Or send a freight enquiry and head office will come back to you.
Since 1985
Liquids cartage with four decades behind it
Hills started in fuel in 1960 and never left it, but the tankers haven't only carried fuel for a long time. In 1985 the family diversified into non-fuel liquids cartage, and that side of the business has grown with the fleet ever since.
That matters if you're the one choosing a carrier. Bulk liquids work rides on the same things bulk fuel does: tanker-experienced drivers, the right combinations, disciplined scheduling and a safety system that stands up to an audit. We didn't have to build any of that for liquids work; it was already here.
Every liquids job runs as a customised, end-to-end solution: your product, your volumes, your sites and your schedule, carried on our gear from pickup to delivery.

Bulk fuel, dangerous goods and liquids run side by side across the fleet, scheduled from the nearest depot.
End to end
What a customised liquids solution includes
One carrier, pickup to delivery
The whole run stays on Hills gear with Hills drivers, scheduled from the depot nearest the work. No handoffs mid-journey, one number to call about the load.
The right combination for the job
Tri-axle semis, truck and quad-dog, 19m and 25m B Doubles, 30m A Doubles, and AB and Triple Road Trains: matched to your volumes and what your sites can take. See the fleet.
Watched the whole way
Real-time GPS tracking and dashcams run across the fleet, so the load's position isn't a guess and questions get straight answers.
Tell us the job
The product, the volumes, the pickup and delivery points, and how often it has to move. A phone call or the enquiry form both work.
We shape the run
Combination, schedule and depot are worked out around your supply chain, not the other way around. You get a straight answer on what we can do and what it costs.
It keeps running
The run settles into the schedule and stays there, with the depot managing it day to day and head office across the whole picture.
Supply chain, uninterrupted
24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Hills Tankers is your trusted partner for customised, reliable end-to-end transport solutions for safe and sustainable bulk liquid transportation, ensuring your supply chain remains uninterrupted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
That's not a slogan we hang on the wall; it's the operating rhythm of a fleet that has kept fuel moving for more than sixty years. Every run is managed from the depot closest to it, with regional oversight across the network, so a liquids run in the Hunter and one out of Mackay each answer to someone who knows the road.
What that buys you
- Runs shaped and optimised across the whole depot network
- Agility when volumes move, and visibility while your product does
- Emissions tracked, with the carbon footprint of each run in view
- A carrier that engages with your team, not just your loading dock
- Less capital tied up in distribution, through better utilisation
- Value added inside the distribution chain, not just freight moved
Tanker work is all the fleet does: fuel, dangerous goods and liquids.
A liquid load is its own trade
What getting it wrong costs
Liquids don't travel like pallets. A tanker load shifts and surges with every brake and bend, and a carrier who treats it like general freight learns that the expensive way: on schedules, on product, and worst of all on safety.
Your liquids work runs under the same system as our bulk fuel and dangerous goods operations, as certified and undertaken by Hills Tankers:
- NHVAS-accredited Safety Management System, with training, maintenance and safety in the one record
- Fatigue and Distraction Management program for every driver
- Cargo Risk Management program on every load
- Real-time GPS monitoring and dashcams across the fleet
Clean tanks between loads
Our Beresfield head office runs an accredited internal tank washing facility, so washing out a tank interior properly before your product goes in is a job we're set up for on our own site, not something outsourced down the road.
Quick answers
Before you send the enquiry
Don't you only carry fuel?
No, and we haven't for a long time. Hills diversified into non-fuel liquids cartage in 1985, and liquids work has run alongside the fuel and dangerous goods operations ever since.
What liquids can you carry?
We provide specialised bulk transport to the liquids industries. Rather than publish a product list, tell us the product and volumes, and we'll come back with whether we can carry it and the gear we'd put on it.
What combinations can you put on our work?
Tri-axle semi-trailers, truck and quad-dog, 19m and 25m B Doubles, 30m A Doubles, and AB and Triple Road Trains, maintained by our own in-house team. More on the fleet and combinations page.
Where do you operate?
Along the eastern and central freight corridors, from depots at Beresfield NSW (head office, just off the M1), Brisbane, Mackay and Townsville, plus a new Adelaide depot.
Can tank interiors be washed between jobs?
Yes. Beresfield is an accredited internal tank washing facility, so tank interiors can be washed out properly on our own site.
Is liquids work run to the same standard as your fuel work?
Yes. One fleet, one safety system: the NHVAS-accredited Safety Management System, fatigue and distraction management, cargo risk management and real-time monitoring apply to every load we carry, whatever is in the tank.
