The first Hills depot beyond the Hunter
When we established the Brisbane depot in 2007, it was our first outside New South Wales, and it came with a specific focus: aviation products. Jet fuel is its own discipline, and Brisbane has carried it for Hills ever since.
Pinkenba is the right end of the city for that work. Eagle Farm Road runs through the riverside industrial strip near the mouth of the Brisbane River, with the airport alongside and the Port of Brisbane downstream: fuel terminal country, where tanker work actually happens.
From here the Queensland operation grew, with Mackay following in 2011 and Townsville in 2021. Brisbane remains the anchor, carrying the same trade Hills has run since 1960: bulk fuel, dangerous goods and bulk liquids.
Hills combinations run everything from single semis to road trains.

Jet fuel is its own trade
Aviation products are exacting cargo, and they're the reason this depot exists. It's careful, scheduled, quality-critical work, and it has been part of Brisbane's day since the gates first opened.
Prime Mover Magazine has told part of that story: Hills Tankers services Coolangatta Airport's jet fuel operation on four dedicated A-double and B-double units, seven days a week, as part of a Caltex and BP joint venture, with a MAN TGS 540 prime mover added to the run in 2023.
