Built for tankers, not adapted to them
In 2015 we moved the operation from our old Rutherford depot into this 40,000 square metre facility at Beresfield, designed around the way a fuel fleet actually works: room to stage, swing and service long combinations, with the M1 on-ramp minutes from the gate.
The location isn't sentimental, but it's close to it. Maitland, where Paul and Netta Hill bought into the Esso distributorship in 1960, is twenty-odd minutes up the road, and the John Renshaw Drive corridor puts the New England Highway, the M1 and Newcastle all within easy reach of the yard.
From here we run our NSW fleet operations, national scheduling and the leadership team, and the gate sees everything from single semis to 30 metre A-Doubles.

The leadership, operations, safety and compliance teams work from Beresfield, overseeing every depot from the Hunter to Adelaide.
NSW fleet operations
Bulk fuel, dangerous goods and liquids cartage across NSW and up and down the eastern freight corridors, scheduled from this depot.
Hills Truck Wash
Our public truck wash and accredited internal tank washing facility runs on site, Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 5.00pm (last truck 4.00pm), with internal washes to 9.00pm by phone arrangement.

Passing through with a dirty truck?
Beresfield is also home to Hills Truck Wash: Australia's first Whiting Systems Smart Wash plus full manual washes, for everything from rigids to road trains. No Hills account needed: allow about 45 minutes for a full B Double through the automatic wash.
